Frequently Asked Questions

  • What hours are you open?

Our hours of operation are Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm. We are closed on weekends and major holidays including Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

  • Where are you located?

We are in Fargo, North Dakota on 42nd Street just south of 7th Avenue on the north end of town. If you travel five blocks West of I-29 on 7th Avenue North you will see a UHaul® storage facility and Red River Commodities® (seed elevator) that you will turn left at. Also, you can google map our location if needed. Click HERE for Google Maps…

  • How do I order parts with Seventh Avenue Auto?

Call us at 701-282-5130 and press option 1 on the prompts, our helpful sales associates will guide you through the necessary information we need to find you the correct application for your vehicle.

    Order Parts Here

  • How do I pay for my parts to get pulled?

We take all major forms of credit cards as well as many of the alternative payment methods (ex. Apple Cash, prepaid cards, etc). If you prefer to pay with a cash payment please stop in and prepay, and then we’ll put your work order in to have the part(s) pulled.

We pull parts on a first-come, first-served basis and can only estimate a time of completion. However, our parts pullers are skilled and well-trained to ensure quick turnaround times for pulling the parts and our sales associates are very prompt in their communication. At times, please understand that the weather is not always cooperative, older vehicles may have rusty bolts, large body cuts such as quarter panels can take a day(s) to complete or other factors may affect your order. With that in mind, we are a local business that employs local talents and cares about our service so we are always striving to be our best.

  • Do I pull my own parts off of the vehicle and how do I pick up my parts?

We are not a U-pull yard and for safety reasons, we do not allow customers in our yard. Our experienced team takes your order with your phone number and payment method. Then we take it from there—dismantling, inspecting, and preparing your part from the vehicle to meet our high standards of quality. Then we’ll call you when it is ready and you simply pick up an invoice in our main office and then pick up the part from our will-call shop. It’s that easy. WE DO NOT hand out parts without an Invoice, so please make sure to stop in our main office before picking them up in the shop.

  • Do you carry tires or batteries?

We carry both tires and batteries; however, we do not inventory our tires and batteries.

    What you need to know:

TIRES-- You will need to get your tire size which is written on the sidewall of your tire (ex. 235/65/17—which broken down is the tire width in millimeters from sidewall to sidewall 235 in this example, the aspect ratio code of height to width in millimeters 65, and the rim diameter in inches 17) and then you can come to see if we have a match for your tire(s). We have many in stock and they are clearly grouped and labeled for convenience of searching. Our tires are very reasonably priced but pricing depends on many factors such as wear, brand, popularity, and the like.

BATTERIES-- Stop in with your old battery to compare with our batteries. Things to consider are: 1do you have a top-post or a side-post, 2what is your group size especially related to CCA or Cold Cranking Amps, 3positive and negative locations on the battery, 4measurement of your battery tray and compartment to ensure proper fit of our battery.

We do need your old battery (also known as a Core) or we will have to charge you a Core charge of $10 per battery. Almost all of our regular batteries (unless under the original manufacturer’s warranty) are $45 with the exchange of the Core. You can return this Core battery within 30 days as well and get that $10 refunded to you.

  • Do you pull trim pieces, random interior parts (e.g. vents, sun visors, headrests, etc), or parts without interchanges that are specific to my vehicle (e.g. roof racking)? What don’t you sell?

We do pull many parts, however, if the part is difficult to find because it is specific to the vehicle with no interchange we will need an example most of the time to ensure we get the correct match for color, size, etc. Since most of the miscellaneous parts on vehicles do not have an interchange, we do not warranty them so that is why we highly recommend or require you to bring us an example. Our minimum pull fee for the yard is $30- so no matter what the part is just to cover our expenses that is our minimum charge on these parts when we pull them for your order.

We do not sell these types of parts: trim pieces for doors or other body parts that make it hard to sell the whole part if that piece is sold separately, used brake parts for safety reasons, fuel lines, hoses, spark plug wires, general maintenance parts like water pumps, thermostats, wheel rotors, or very specific items like bolts, plugs, wheel center caps, and lug nuts. We also do not sell U-joints, shackles, most coil springs or stabilizer bars, dipsticks, caps for reservoirs or fuel caps, exhaust parts, or many sensors, and all of our large parts are sold complete (e.g. engines are sold complete and not broken down into the various parts such as heads, cylinders, etc).

Please note also that weather is a factor for certain parts. Mid-winter in North Dakota is hard for outdoor dismantling and from time-to-time we are unable to pull small plastic pieces because they break easily.

  • What all comes with the body part I’m buying, such as a door?

We do not include door windows, panels, mirrors, window regulators, or the like. We sell doors as a shell only (similar to a dealership just much more reasonably priced). We certainly can include more parts if requested at discounted prices since you are buying an assembly piece. We do not include door hinges, hood shocks, or wiring harnesses, again unless requested and if they are still in good condition. These parts are not guaranteed and may be priced separately as well. Other things we do not guarantee but might be included as bonus parts are: bulbs for lights, clips for body parts and windows, serviceable hubs, ball joints, etc. We can try to include the hardware for the part when requested but sometimes it is not available because the part is already dismantled, the hardware is not in good condition, manufacturing differences, and/or other considerations.

Please take note of the fact that we live in a region of the world where environmental conditions rust out vehicle parts. We are always seeking to provide high-quality used auto parts but cannot eliminate rust as a part of the equation.

We do not accept returns because of surface rust when it does not affect the functionality of the part.

  • Do you have a warranty or accept returns on used parts?

We accept returns for up to 30 days on many parts, however, a restocking fee of 20% may be applied to any returned parts. We do not accept returns for special order parts, brokered parts, installed or painted parts, electrical items (ex. wire harness), special cuts, etc. Additionally, shipping and handling charges are non-refundable and refunds will not exceed the original purchase price.

An Invoice may be required for standard returns, core returns, and all warranties. An Invoice is required for all tires, batteries, and parts that are not inventoried. We cannot look up your Invoice on these parts.

WARRANTY: 90-day warranty on all parts sold unless otherwise noted. Parts are warranted only under normal operations. Warranty is void if basic maintenance is not performed (e.g. replacing timing belts, fluids, seals). We will not warranty parts that were not properly installed. INTAKE GASKETS are not covered under the Warranty. Our warranty is void on parts that have been tampered with. Warranty covers the base component and not the attached parts (ex. the hub on a spindle). A warranty claim must be made by the original purchaser. Additional costs to customers such as labor, diagnosing, towing, car rental, or reprogramming are not covered. Major components are stamped and may have heat-sensitive tabs attached to indicate overheating that will void the warranty. All parts are sold DRAINED of all FLUIDS. Follow OEM manufacturer procedures and fluid specifications on installation.

We do not accept returns because of surface rust when it does not affect the functionality of the part.

  • Do you want my old part back (i.e. the Core)?

A core return may be required for some parts, but we are an honest company with integrity and will put it specifically on your Invoice as a Core charge. You can then return the old part you pull off of your vehicle to get this Core charge back within 30 days of the sale. Core returns must be drained of all fluids where applicable, assembled, and completed as they were sold. Bent or broken cores are NOT accepted, with the exception of aluminum wheels/rims that are broken. Cores must be returned complete and drained of fluid within 30 days.

  • Are you a junkyard and can I drop off old house appliances or the like?

We are not a junkyard, but a recycling and salvage facility. We accept many vehicle types and provide more information on what we buy on our Recycling page. For most items like old household appliances, you can contact other recyclers such as Gerdau Metals Recycling® or Northern Metal Recycling®.

  • Do you work on customer vehicles?

We are not a mechanic shop and we do not work on customer vehicles and do not allow customers to work on their vehicles on the premises for safety and legal reasons. Our bonding insurance is not set up to work on customer vehicles. Instead, our business model is to provide quality used auto parts and used vehicles that we sell directly to the public at very reasonable costs. We can recommend many service providers if you need to find a mechanic, tire shop, or body shop to get your vehicle fixed.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS and we look forward to serving you at Seventh Avenue Auto!
